I hate having to think about what to get people for Christmas. This gift list has great ideas for new mom, newborns, or Christmas baby showers. Not only can you personalize these gifts and make them really special; they are also very functional. These are things that will actually get used daily. If you don’t want to waste your money, read on.
Receiving Blankets
These things are just so versatile I cannot keep them in stock at the house. Though we had at least 20 of them when Greyson was born they seemed to quickly disappear or get misplaced.
Most people use receiving blankets to swaddle their little one but they can be used for so much more! I use these fabulous cloths for burping, swaddling, changing, cleaning, and covering. Get rid of your standard burp cloths and just get more receiving blankets. They are so easy to throw over your shoulder and burp your baby. I like to lay them down on surfaces to change baby when I don’t have an actual changing table handy.
Babies tend to spit up or drool everywhere and these blankets are easily accessible to quickly clean up spills. I also use them as a cover for breastfeeding or to put on the baby if you want a light blanket for late spring or early fall. Of course, last but not least, they are the perfect swaddle to keep your little one nice and tight when putting them to sleep. I swear I can never have enough receiving blankets!
Baby Lounger
This was my go to giftt for my newborn! I do so many things with the boppy lounger. I can lay him down, sit him up, prop him up, do tummy time, etc. I can’t imagine my life without that thing. I can carry it anywhere with the convenient handle located on top.
It would be ideal to have one at locations you visit frequently such as grandma’s house, the baby sitter, if you have a multi level house having one for upstairs and downstairs would eliminate hauling it up and down the stairs everyday. So, if you are buying for someone else, buy two!
The lounger is made with a groove imprint which makes it so comfortable for baby. My son will sleep for hours and I don’t have to worry about him rolling over or being unsafe while I get things done around the house. I promise you the boppy lounger is a must have!
Plain Onesies
You can’t go wrong with plain-colored onesies. Babies are constantly changing sizes, staining their clothes with bodily fluid, and needing a quick change of clothes. I recommend getting large packs of onesies in solid colors, such as white, gray, and black. I would also get them in multiple sizes ( I swear my son wears a different size everyday).
Around one month old babies will start to have major blow outs in their diaper which causes the onesies to get poop stains and ones it goes in it doesn’t come out no matter how much you wash it! You’ll need at least three onesies in the diaper bag at all times if your going out for the day or he/she is with the babysitter.
I like the versatility of solid onesies because they can be mixed and matched with whatever they are wearing that day. Children’s clothing has varying patterns that make it hard to match with anything other than solids if the cute outfit they were wearing is now a pile of… you know what.
Baby Moisturizer
This gift set is amazing! Many moms have preferences of the type of moisturizer to use on their baby. Some popular ones are Cetaphil, Eucerin, and Aveeno. I tried them all, but one thing I know for sure is that babies skin tend to get dry and peel. Some babies also develop eczema and they need to be moisturized multiple times a day!
My doctor gave me what seemed to be a hundred samples but after using it morning, noon, and night; I eventually had to break down and buy one. Just click here and save yourself the trouble. I like to keep some in the nursery, in the family room, in the diaper bag, and in the car for easy access and comfort.
Don’t know which kind to buy click here.
Diaper Rash Cream
I know this seems odd but, as I stated before, I am all about the functionality. Previously, parents would use diaper cream after the baby has already developed a rash and they want to get rid of it.
Here at Millenni-Mom, I’m here to tell you to go ahead and put diaper cream on your baby every time or at least every other time you change their diaper! This will prevent you from having to take care of a rashy baby and prevent the baby from being tender and in pain. Boudreaux’s Butt paste has been my pride and joy with my son. It doesn’t take much at all to make a big impact and it smells great. I keep some on hand in his diaper bag and at the changing table. Your child will thank you.
Don’t forget you can always customize these items.
One of the best ways to get all of these items is to put them on a registry.
If you have any newborn essentials that would be a great gift for baby’s first Christmas, I’d love to hear from you!
If you know a mom who needs this list, share it with a friend!
